The question this page answers

What does this book hold, what needs a person this week, and what is waiting on a second signature?

What you see

All commitments, the book of every commitment as a card, marked 1 and 2.
  1. The head's own figures, Declared buy and Open to commit, across every open commitment in view.
  2. Declare a commitment, which opens the wizard.

All commitments is the book, the page under Commitments on the rail. It opens on an overview of every commitment as a card. A filter narrows them by phase: All, Continuity, In-season, Pre-season, Post-season and Closed, each with its count, and a search box finds a commitment by name. A summary line counts the open commitments in view, with their Declared buy and Open to commit.

Cards are grouped as Trading now (continuity and in season), Preparing the next buy (pre-season) and Closing the loop (post-season and closed). Each card shows its phase, its selling dates (or Ongoing replenishment for continuity), its name and scope, and either its budget (Declared buy, Placed, Reserve held and Open to commit) or, once closed, the Season outcome. Beneath, the card lists the next decisions on that commitment with their money and act, or Open commitment where there are none. Pressing a name opens the commitment's room.

The head carries a Last season door where there is one and, for a person who can sign commitments off, Declare a commitment. A clock button appears when the scored weeks are out of date, and the weekly verdict engine states its own run beneath the head.

The book can also be read as a table, by stage: Active, Pre-season and Closed, each with its count. Active shows Commitment, Status, Open to commit, Buying budget, and Season and timing. Pre-season shows Readiness, the Buying budget and when the season Opens. Closed shows the Outcome, Received against the buying budget, and when it Closed. Show details adds the five (as None scored yet, All five holding, or 3 of 5 holding) and each declared term, plus a bar against the largest budget and a Placed column. Rows that need a person come first, then rows nobody has scored, then rows that are holding. A budget nobody declared reads Not on file. A scope on a sales channel has no spend of its own, and its row says so:

Purchase orders carry no sales channel, so this scope has no spend of its own.

On Active and Pre-season, a Next action column holds at most one door per row: Sign off for a declaration awaiting a second signature, Close for a season past its window, or Release the chase where a reserve can be released. Where the viewer cannot act, the reason stands in place of the button. A seat that signs commitments off also gets a row menu on every open season, offering Archive commitment (Delete or archive on one still pending sign-off).

What to do

  1. Filter by phase, or search a name, to narrow the book.
  2. Press Declare a commitment to start one; this needs sign-off access. See Declare.
  3. Press a card or a table row to open that commitment's room.
  4. Press a Next action door directly from the book: Sign off (see Sign off), Close (see Close a commitment), or Release the chase (see Release the chase).
  5. Open a row's own menu for Archive commitment, where a seat may.
  6. Switch to the table view to work by stage instead of by card.

Nothing on this page writes on its own; every act here opens its own page or drawer first. Selling periods sits beside this page under Commitments on the rail.

When it is empty or failed

A book with no commitment reads No commitments yet, with Declare a commitment, or, for someone who cannot sign off:

Declaring one needs sign-off from an admin, or someone named on the Approvals page.

An overview filter with nothing in it reads No commitments match this view. An empty stage is not an empty book, and names its stage:

Nothing is inside its window.

Nothing is waiting to open.

Nothing has closed yet.

A failed read is never an empty book. It reads as below, with Try again:

The commitments could not be read just now.

Where the position read fails, Open to commit reads Did not compute rather than a zero.
