The question this page answers
The season is over. What did it keep, what did it sell, and where does every unit still on hand go?
What you see
Eight tabs, in the order the close is worked.
Outcome is the record. Each declared number on its own row: what you declared, where it stood at close, and its standing in words, Kept, Missed, or the reason a number was not scored.
Financial performance is the season's actual sales and realised margin for this commitment, with returned units read separately for your own channels and for accounts.
Sales is a row per style: received, sold, sold through, realised margin, the size that was left over, and the word the platform struck for it: Repeat, Reduce or Drop. You type your own word over it and the platform's stays beside it.
Remaining stock is the work. A row per style with units still on hand: how many, what they cost, the route the engines propose for them with the engine named, what that route recovers and what it does not, and how many weeks the rest would take. Type your own route over any of them.
Accounts is a row per account: took, shipped, cancelled, withdrawn, sold, on hand, sold through, fill against what they booked, and the reading: Ran short, On target or Overbought. An account that reports no sell-out is read on what it took, and says so rather than reading as an account that sold nothing.
Forecast review is the vintages: what the forecast said about the close each week, beside what actually traded that week and whether it landed inside its band. Under it, one row per declared number: how many weeks it was scored on, how many landed inside, and the lesson to carry into the next declaration.
Next season pairs each style with the style that follows it, or says it continues as itself, and shows the units carried from Remaining stock with where they land.
Capital is the money: what is still to decide, what it is worth, and where each decision is settled.
The routes out of a season
Six, and each row takes one of them until nothing is unrouted.
- Carry into the next season. The units stay yours and land as that season's opening position.
- Clear on price at a price. The engines propose the smallest markdown on the pricing engine's ladder that clears the units.
- Off price to a bulk taker, at the rate your finance terms declare.
- Transfer to a door or an account that ran short of the same style. The engines propose it and you can type it, but the close cannot record it, and the page says so before the press.
- Return to the supplier.
- Donate.
The engines propose in an order, not by the money recovered. A door or account that ran short of the style takes a transfer or a return first. A style that has a successor next season is cleared, never carried: carrying units of a garment the next season does not sell puts money into an opening position that cannot move. A style that continues as itself is carried where next season's own curve sells the carried units inside that season's window, and cleared where it does not.
Nothing is recorded until you press Close and reckon
Every route you type, every word you type on Sales and every pair you accept is a try. Recovered, Carried and Unrouted move in the foot as you type, so you can see what a plan is worth before you commit to it. Undo walks back through every try, one press at a time, and Accept all proposals is one try you can take back with one press.
Close and reckon is the one record. It writes the destination and the routes as one plan and scores the season once. It is refused while a unit is unrouted, and says how many units have no route yet.
Where a read has not answered
Each tab draws its rows from its own read. Where one has not answered, the tab says so plainly rather than drawing an empty table, so a missing read never reads as a season that sold out and left nothing. On Remaining stock:
The route each style is proposed is not served yet, so nothing here can be routed. It arrives with the close read.
Where to go next
- Work the buy on the season a carry lands in, at the carried style.
- The account in Tightly Connect, at what it sold.
