The question this page answers
The window has ended. How did the season go, what is left, and where do the leftovers go?
What you see
- 1What falls out of cover, the preview of what closing would record.
- 2Declared against delivered, the one of the five that is scoreable at the close.
- 3Not scored, the other four, each a stated absence with its reason on hover.
Close a commitment ends a boxed season whose window has ended, scores it, lands its residue, and records both. It is five cards down one page, never a stepper: the consequence, the clearance, the plan, the destination, the close. The head names the commitment and the act, Close and reckon.
The close reading is a preview of what closing would record, measured again inside the close itself. What falls out of cover counts the variants that stop being measured by anything once the season closes. Declared against delivered reads the buy envelope, the one of the five that is honestly scoreable at the close, and Not scored lists the other four, each as a stated absence with its reason on hover. What is left is the clearance reading: what is still on hand at cost, and how much of it never sold at all.
The leftovers by route is the plan: the units still here, typed onto routes, with the last row footing what is left unrouted. Where your finance terms declare a recovery rate the table becomes What the leftovers are worth, with Comes back and Does not come back; where none is declared it says so once. Which Commitment takes the carry names the commitment that takes carried units, and What routing moved says what each change does as you type. Clear the routes starts again.
Where the leftovers go reads the destination off the plan where units are routed, and otherwise asks for one of the four the server offers, each with its own sentence on hover: carry it over, fold it into a standing commitment, clear it on price, or return it to the vendor. Folding in must name the standing commitment that takes the residue; nothing is inferred, because under the same-dollar rule a wrong assignment blocks the right one. Carrying over may name the commitment that takes it, and does not have to, because that commitment often does not exist until the close frees the dollars. Say why asks for the reason this commitment is closing, required. Above the final button stand five sentences: the claim on the pool released and free to re-declare from the close on, the envelope and what went unspent or was placed over it, that it cannot be re-opened and from the close on nothing scores these five numbers, that nothing moves, and where the leftovers land.
Finish clean in the room works the same route plan, and can record the close from there.
What to do
- Read What falls out of cover and What is left, the preview of what closing would record.
- Route the leftovers under The leftovers by route, or clear them and start again with Clear the routes.
- Under Where the leftovers go, choose a destination: carry it over, fold it into a standing commitment, clear it on price, or return it to the vendor.
- Name the commitment that takes it, where the destination needs one.
- Type a reason under Say why.
- Press Close and reckon.
Closing takes the Commitments door, an admin or a member given it. The page becomes the record: Closed and scored, with the reckon as measured once at close and served as recorded, never recomputed, and Where the leftovers landed. Nothing moves: no stock is transferred, no product is reassigned, nothing is marked down. A closed commitment cannot be re-opened; the way back from a wrong close is a new declaration, which is possible because the dollars are free again. A declaration that should stop early rather than finish is ended by Retire a commitment.
When it is empty or failed
No commitment at this address.
The declaration did not come back.
A pending declaration was never armed, so there is no season to close, and the page offers Retire it instead:
Never armed. Retire it instead.
A seat without the Commitments door reads:
Closing a Commitment needs org-admin access.
While the preview is read, and where it did not come back:
Measuring what a close would record.
Close reading failed to load. No close attempted.
The server's own verdict on whether this commitment can close renders in its words where it cannot: a rolling window has no season end to reckon, and a boxed window still inside its dates would free the pool while receipts are still arriving. The fields refuse in place:
Choose where the leftovers go. A closed season’s stock that lands nowhere stops being measured by anything.
Choose the commitment receiving the remaining stock.
Enter a reason for closing.
A refused close renders as a card, The close was refused, and says nothing was written, so nothing closed.
