What it is

An account's buyer reaches your Tightly through two doors. The showing link opens one showing without a login: the season as it was shown to that account on a date, at the account's price, with the account's own record beside each style, and an export. The seat is a login: the buyer signs in to Tightly and reads their own side of your commitment on up to eight pages (Home, Forecast for my stores, My orders, Ship windows, Sell-through, My stores, Showroom, Claims). They write their own things only: a claim, their own sell-out, a comment, an answer to a showing as units on hold, their own purchase order as a file, and on My stores a proposed type for a door or a new door, both of which wait on you. A seat is scoped to one account at one brand; a buyer who works with several brands holds several seats and switches between them. The buyer pays nothing; the buyer portal comes with Tightly Pro.

How Tightly decides it

The link is the showing's own identity, and it stays open for the days the seller set (30 by default) and answers one sentence once expired or withdrawn. Each share from the Showroom sheet, Share a new version included, makes a new showing with its own link, so send the new link; an earlier link keeps answering what it showed until it closes or is withdrawn.

The seat is a grant on the buyer's own Tightly login, held in their own identity account with no organisation and no subscription. A rep with write access invites from the Seats at {account} drawer, naming an email and the pages the seat opens; the invitation names the brand and the account and lasts seven days. An existing Tightly login accepts and gains the seat; a new one sets a name and password first. A person who belongs to a brand's own workspace is refused: "This email belongs to a Tightly workspace; ask your seller to invite another address." One person sits in one chair at one account.

Revoke is instant and keeps the row, so the seat's history stays readable and a re-invited buyer takes the same seat back. Every page a seat opens is recorded, and the brand reads that activity per seat. A seat resolves only while the brand's plan carries the buyer portal, which is Tightly Pro, and the brand has not switched invitations off; they are on unless someone turns them off. A revoked, unknown or borrowed seat is refused with no detail.

The words on the face

In the Seats at {account} drawer each row's State reads Invited, Accepted, Expired or Revoked with its date, or Email not sent; Last opened reads a date, or Not opened. Pages this seat opens names the pages; the figures are seats, waiting on them and last opened. A revoked seat reads "This seat is revoked; invite them again to give them one." On the showroom sheet a hold the buyer typed stands as {n} held under Booked on the style's row, and the From {account} pane lists it as "Held {n} from the showing."

On the buyer's side the frame is theirs: your mark and name, the account's name, a seat switcher where they hold more than one seat, a flat rail of the pages their seat opens, and no Ask. My stores opens wherever Sell-through does. What crosses to a seat is their own lines, holds, windows, claims, showings, their reported sell-out, their doors, the season and its scope's name, and a grade only where its evidence is their own doors. What never crosses: cost, margin, suppliers, terms, the allocation policy, the commitment's name, its five numbers, its envelope and depth, and any other account.

What you can do about it

Share the link from the showroom when a buyer will not sign in. Give a seat when the relationship runs across a season: the buyer answers the showing with holds that land on your commitment the moment they type them, sends their own sell-out so their grade is measured from their own doors, and raises claims where you already decide them. Change the pages a seat opens at any time; revoke when the person leaves.

Glossary line

A seat is a buyer's login to one account's side of your commitments; the showing link is one showing, read without a login.
