What it is
The grade is the baseline engine's word on one style at one account: how that style is likely to sell in that account's doors, and what the word stands on. It is Winner, Sleeper or Bleeder, with an evidence word under it: measured or borrowed. Measured means one predecessor of the style, as this account reported it with its shelf observed every week, decided it. Borrowed means something less direct decided it at that account: several predecessors blended, a predecessor whose shelf was corrected, the product inside a kit, look-alike styles or the style's family. A grade from a predecessor whose shelf nobody recorded carries no evidence word.
Where the account has reported nothing usable for the predecessor, its look-alikes or its family (a style counts from eight reported weeks), the brand's own level stands in and the cell reads From the brand, with no grade word at all: a Winner is never declared from someone else's doors.
How Tightly decides it
The engine grades every account and style pair in an active Commitment's scope on every sync, immediately after the sales velocity forecast; where no active Commitment covers any style, it grades the styles in the order book's open seasons. It grades again for one account alone the moment that account's sell-out file lands. Each grade carries one sentence composed for the face, shown on hover: it names the account, and what the grade was read from.
The grade is pace against scale at this account. Pace is the account's sell-through on the styles that decided it: at or above 85 percent it ran short, below 50 percent it was overbought, and between the two it was on target. Scale is the style's level against the middle of this account's graded styles in the same run.
Where the engine could not grade, the cell says which absence it is. Sell-in only is a style this account has reported nothing usable for, where the brand has no borrowed level either: its demand reads from what it orders. A refused pair prints the engine's reason as its word, Too few weeks or Out of stock all season. A style the engine could not ask at all, and a pair it never assessed, read Not graded. A row the engine sized without a grade word reads Graded.
On Tightly Pro's showroom, a row whose own grade is older than the page's says Graded with its day on hover. The engine's own sentences are:
Some grades did not refresh today; each row carries its own date.
Today's grading did not finish; showing {as_of}'s grades.
No account reports sell-out yet, so there is nothing to grade.
The words on the face
| Word | What it stands on |
|---|---|
| Winner | ran short or on target, on a level at or above this account's middle |
| Sleeper | ran short or on target, on a level below this account's middle |
| Bleeder | overbought at this account, whatever the level |
| measured, borrowed | under a grade: one observed predecessor, or anything less direct at the account |
| From the brand | the brand's own level; no grade word |
| Sell-in only | nothing usable from this account and no brand level |
| Graded | sized, with no grade word; or a row's own older date |
| Too few weeks, Out of stock all season | the engine's reason for refusing the pair |
| Not graded | never assessed, or refused with no reason named |
Likely to sell, in the showroom on Tightly Pro, prints a range on a borrowed row that carries one, a level on every other sized row, including a From the brand row, and Not sized where nothing can be sized.
What you can do about it
The grade is read where it lives on the account. Under the demand figure on the account's Book the source word says what the demand stands on: sell-out where the account's own doors measured it, borrowed, from the brand, or sell-in where the grade reads Sell-in only. The Book carries the Grade column too. On Accounts, where an active Commitment declares the season, the word under Demand is sell-out or sell-in. The account's Sell-out tab carries a Grade column, which leaves the table until the engine has reached the account; its Doors tab prints each door's predicted units for the season, and the Grade there is the door's own volume grade, a separate word. On Pro the showroom carries the Grade column.
To grade a borrowed, brand or sell-in-only row from the account's own doors, land the account's sell-out through Sell-out intake: choose the account, preview the file, record the account's answers once, and import it. That account's grades are made again as soon as the file lands, for that account and no other. Until then, record the account's orders with Record a booking or through Order intake, and its demand stands on them.
Glossary line
The grade is the baseline engine's word on a style at one account, Winner, Sleeper or Bleeder, with the evidence it stands on: measured from one observed predecessor at that account, or borrowed from anything less direct there; From the brand where only the brand's own level exists.
