What recording a booking writes
Recording a booking adds lines to the season's order book for bookings a rep has already taken outside Tightly. Each line names its account, style, quantity and season. A booked line also carries its wholesale price and its first delivery day, with a cancel date where one was agreed; only a hold (sizes and price to follow) or a draft may leave the price and the window out. Nothing is placed, sent or acknowledged: no stock is held, no order is created and the account hears nothing.
The book keeps every version of a line. A booking is never overwritten; a wrong line is corrected by recording its next version, and the history keeps both. A line that says exactly what the book already holds changes nothing. Several lines land together and each stands on its own: a good line lands even where another in the same request is refused, and the refused one comes back with its reason. The one exception is an account the book does not hold when Ask Tightly records: that refuses the whole request, and no line lands until every account it names is one the book holds.
Who may record a booking
A seat that can write (read and write or above), on Tightly Connect, which is Essentials+ and Pro. A read-only seat is not offered the act and cannot have a booking recorded.
Ask Tightly may record bookings you tell it about. It states what it will record in one sentence and ends its turn, and records only after you say yes on a later turn; your yes covers exactly those lines, once. When Ask Tightly records a booking, an account the book does not already hold is refused by name rather than created, and nothing in that request is written, so a misspelt name comes back as a sentence to fix, never as a second account or half a booking.
Where you record a booking by hand
On an account's head, Record a booking. On Essentials+ it opens a drawer, "Record a booking for {account}", with Style, Units, "Held: sizes and price to follow", the wholesale price, and "Ships from, and the cancel date".
- 1Disabled until a style and units are chosen.
Before the button it reads:
Records {units} of {style} on {account}'s {season} book. Recording writes it down and sends nothing.
With Held ticked the price and the dates step aside and the sentence adds "as held". Record the booking writes the line, and the receipt stands in the drawer, for example "1 line recorded. Nothing was sent to {account}." On Pro the same button opens the commitment's Agreed book with this account chosen. See The account.
What Ask Tightly says before it records
The sentence is composed by Tightly from the lines themselves, not written by Ask:
Record {n} booking lines for {account}, {n} units, on the order book; nothing is sent to any account.
Where the lines name more than one account, the account is replaced by the count of accounts. After you answer, Ask Tightly relays what landed and names any line that did not, with its reason.
How to correct a booking
There is no undo from a conversation. The way back is the next version of the same line: ask Ask Tightly to record the correction, or tick the line on the account's Book, type the change and press Record what was agreed. The version the mistake left stays in the line's history; the newest version is what the book counts.
Refusals you may read when recording
An account the book does not hold, when Ask Tightly records, refuses the whole request, and nothing lands:
No account named {account}.
With several unknown names, they are listed in the same sentence. Every other refusal is a single line's: that line is refused on its own, and the lines beside it still land. Among the reasons:
No style on file matches the one this line names.
No first delivery day is recorded, and a booked line needs one.
This line cancels before it ships.
No sell-in price is on file for this style at this account.
