What declaring how an account's sell-out reads writes
Four answers one account's weekly report needs before the first file from them can be read: what the figures cover (each store, their distribution centres, or the whole account), the currency, whether prices include tax, and what a missing row means (the product sold none, or the account did not report it). A fifth, the day their week ends on, is optional. There is no default for any of them, because every default is wrong for about half of all accounts: one writes an explicit zero for a product that did not sell, another leaves the row out.
All four land in one press. A declaration with any of them missing is refused rather than completed by a guess, and the account is always named, never read from a file. Declaring again for the same account replaces the answers, and every later file from that account is read by the new ones. Nothing is sent to the account.
Who may declare how sell-out reads
A seat that can write (read and write or above), on Tightly Connect, which is Essentials+ and Pro. A read-only seat can read what an account has declared and cannot declare it.
Ask Tightly may record the answers you give it. It is told to take all four at once and never to guess them from a file, and a call missing one is refused by the server; it states what it will record in one sentence and ends its turn, and records only after you say yes on a later turn.
Where you declare it by hand
On Sell-out intake, Import a file: for an account with no answers yet, the button reads Record the answers and import {n} rows, and a refused import offers Record these answers and import. On Setup's Your accounts step, each account's Declare or Change opens "How their sell-out reads": Their reports cover, Their prices are in, Their prices are, Their file lists, and Their week ends on. Before the button it reads:
Every file from {account} is read this way until you change it. Nothing is sent to them.
Record how they report writes the four, and the drawer reads "Recorded for {account}". See Sell-out intake.
What Ask Tightly says before it declares
The sentence is composed by Tightly from the account, not written by Ask:
Record how {account}'s sell-out files are read; nothing is sent to the account.
Once recorded, the answer comes back saying this account's reports can now be imported.
How to change a declaration
There is no undo from a conversation. The way back is declaring again for the same account, on Setup, on an import or by asking: the new answers replace the old ones for every file read afterwards.
Refusals you may read when declaring
say which currency these prices are in, as a three-letter code such as GBP or EUR
the day their week ends on is 0 for Monday through 6 for Sunday, or absent if unknown
An answer missing on what the figures cover, on tax or on what a missing row means is refused with the choices it takes. On the drawer, "Answer each of the four." stops the button before anything is sent, and "How they report was not recorded." stands where no reason came back.
