The question this page answers

How did my store trade, what moved, and where is the money sitting? On Tightly Lite the Board is ten charts that are always there. Every Lite store reads the same ten in the same order, and nothing on this page is built, saved or thrown away: they arrive made, they are read from your records each time the page asks for them, and they are the charts your plan draws.

What you see

The head is the page's name and nothing else. Under it the ten stand as bands, as many across as fit: two at a normal screen, three on a wide one.

The order is the argument, and it is the order a Monday reads: how trade went, what moved, what running out cost, what is about to run out, what came back, and where the cash is sitting.

ChartWhat it answers
Full price shareHow much of the last 26 weeks was taken at full price and how much at markdown, week by week
Gross marginMargin against sales for 13 weeks, week by week, priced at your cost per item
What rose and what fellYour top ten products by net sales over the last four weeks, each against the four before
Sales by channelNet sales by channel for 13 weeks, week by week
What running out costMissed revenue and lost units by product over 13 weeks, worst first, top ten
What runs out nextThe fifteen lines projected to run out soonest, in days, with the shortfall beside each
What comes back mostReturned units and the return rate by product over 12 weeks, most units first, top ten
Returns over timeThe return rate by value, week by week, over 13 weeks
Where the stock money sitsStock at cost by category, largest first; on Shopify the category is your product type
Dead moneyThe fifteen products with the slowest cover, with the stock value beside each

One of the ten, What runs out next, carries Add to Home, and Home is where it lands.

What to do

Read them in the order they stand. Hover a mark for the figures behind it, or open a chart in a larger pane from the control at its top right. Nothing here renames, saves, pins or deletes.

In Ask Tightly, a Lite plan draws these same ten charts, points you to the page a question is about, takes a problem report, and answers how-to questions from the help centre. It does not read your records for a question of its own, and it keeps nothing: the ten are the charts, and they are what the Board holds.

When it is empty or failed

A chart with nothing to plot says which absence it is and never draws a zero:

No sales in the last 26 weeks.

No sales in the last 13 weeks.

No sales in the last four weeks.

No line was out of stock in the last 13 weeks.

Nothing is projected to run out inside the horizon.

Nothing was returned in the last 12 weeks.

No stock on hand.

Where Tightly can measure why the answer is empty, it says the measured reason instead of the general one. Cost per item is optional in Shopify, and the three charts priced from it (Gross margin, Where the stock money sits and Dead money) say how many lines are missing it:

Cost per item is not set on {missing} of your {total} variants.

or, where none carries one, Cost per item is not set on any of your {total} variants. Where every cost is filled and a margin still cannot be priced:

None of the sales in this window carry a cost, so margin cannot be worked out.

Where no product carries a product type:

None of your products carry a product type, so they all sit in one category.

Days out of stock are counted forward from your first sync and nothing supplies the past, so the stockout chart dates itself:

Stockout days have been recorded since {date}.

A book too short for the comparison says how short:

Your orders reach back to {date}, which is not enough to read four weeks against the four before.

Two sentences are the page's own, for a read that did not land:

This chart could not be read just now.

Your charts could not be read just now.

The second stands where the ten would be, with Try again beside it.
