The question this page answers
What does it do step by step, what would it do today, how far does it go, is it proven, what waits on me, and what has it done? One skill's page is its sequence and its record on one page. Its cases, the evals, are a card on it; the evals address opens the page at that card.
What you see
The head is the skill's name with a badge: its state and version, such as Live · v3, or Draft · v4 while a next version is being written. The basis line reads USD and the version. Under it a row of figures off its runs: the money it put on the Bench, how many runs, how many lines were held and how many runs were put back; a figure of nought is left out. The head's acts are Skills, the door back, then Run now, then the primary: Publish with the version on a draft or an off skill, or Move it up one rung on a live one, absent at the top rung.
The cards, laid out in one to four panes by the width of the page:
| Card | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Sequence | The steps in order, each with what it did on the last run and across all runs |
| Applies to | The dry run on today's desk: Style, Cover, Reorder and Would (Stage, Park or Leave), with Re-check today |
| How far it goes | The four rungs (Born here, Earned, Passed, Not yet), the gates to the next rung in the server's words with Open or Not yet, and What moved it |
| Held for you | Only when this skill has parked decisions: What, Why, Since, and Approve or Reject |
| Runs | One row a run: When, Outcome, Read, Kept, the act's own count, On the Bench and Held, with Can go back where the runs differ |
| Cases | The score as a count on this version, such as 10 of 10 on v3, Run all, and Case, Result where one is red, Checks and From run |
On a live skill How far it goes comes before Applies to on a narrow page; on a draft the dry run comes first. A run's row opens the run. A case opens its checks, each marked In code or Judged, two different claims said apart, with its result.
What to do
Run now works on a live skill only. Its consequence stands before the press, "Runs the sequence once now; lines park at this rung.", and the receipt reads Run started with the time and that it lands in Runs. On a draft the Runs card says
Publish it first; a draft runs nothing.
Holding the Skills door means an admin, or a read-write seat named an approver for Skills on the Approvals page. With it, a step's row opens the step in a drawer and its menu offers Move up, Move down, Add a step after and Cut this step. A change lands on the draft; on a live skill the receipt says the live version keeps running until you publish the draft.
Publish is enabled when you hold the door and no case is red; otherwise the reason stands: Needs the Skills door, or One case is red. The server also refuses a publish while any case has not been run against this version, and publishes only a draft, so on an off skill it refuses; either way it prints its own sentence. Run all runs every case against the current version; a case that goes red on a live skill steps it down a rung.
Move it up one rung is enabled only when every gate is open and you hold the door; otherwise the first closed gate's own words stand under it. The rung is earned, not granted, and the skill steps back down by itself if the evidence turns. Cases come from runs, through Keep this run as a case on a run's page, and from the conversation the skill was written in; nothing here adds, edits or deletes a case.
There is no rename, duplicate, delete or step-down button on this page.
When it is empty or failed
This skill could not be read just now.
No runs yet.
stands in Runs, or names the first scheduled run where there is one.
No cases yet; keep a clean run as one from its page.
A skill with no steps reads No steps. A refused publish, save, run or move prints the server's own sentence where the button was.
