What it writes
Update saved insight writes the question on your screen to the kept answer's record: the period, the grain, the breakdown, the filters, the measures, their order and how many rows. Until you press it, everything you change in the workspace is scratch; the Board keeps the question it was saved with, and the address of the page carries your view so a link opens the same scratch for a colleague. The Compare and Threshold chips ride in that address too, but they are part of the view, not of the question, so the press does not write them.
The press moves the question and clears the figures that were kept for the old one: the saved chart, its rows and its period. The title and any written text are untouched, the day the figures were last read stays, and where the answer is pinned does not change. Because nothing is left to measure a movement against, the Board's next read of this answer says Not comparable in Since saved, with no saved figures beneath it, until the answer has been read again.
Who may press it
A Member or an Admin, on a kept answer on your own Board. A Viewer's press is refused with the role sentence. It is the workspace's one write of this kind; the Board's rows and Home's readings never re-plan themselves.
What you see
The moment the question on screen differs from the record, the head gains a neutral badge
Adjusted · board unchanged
and the primary Update saved insight, and the chips row carries Undo naming the last change. After the press the badge and the button leave, the head reads Board updated at with the time, and the address drops the view. Nothing pops up and nothing navigates. A written answer never shows the row, because it has no question to update, and neither does an answer kept without a question of its own.
What to do
The way back before the press is Undo, one change at a time, down to the record. After the press there is no earlier version to return to: adjust again and update again, or ask the question afresh and keep the new answer beside the old one. Remove from board deletes the answer altogether.
Refusals you may read
A refused update prints the server's own sentence under the acts, in ink, and marks nothing saved. Where the server answered but the record still holds the old question, the page says so in its place:
The board still holds the question it was saved with.
A link whose view could not be restored shows the saved record with the badge Saved view shown and the reason on hover:
The view in this link could not be read
An answer that is no longer on the Board cannot be updated, and the page says No longer on your board. with the Board door and nothing else.
