The question this page answers

What should Tightly know about your company before it reads any of your data? It is the second card of setup and the last one before you connect anything. It appears on a guided arrival only: a store install is asked none of it and walks straight to the system card.

What it asks

Five answers, on one card, under the basis line Editable in Settings and a sentence that reads them back, such as "{name} plans weekly, on a year opening in {month}."

Name. As it should read on every page, on a purchase order and in an email to a supplier. It is the name a staffer put on your company when they prepared it, and you may change it here.

Vertical. One of five. It picks the benchmarks your figures are graded against, so a premium apparel book is not measured against a beauty one.

Currency. What every money column on every page means.

Fiscal year opens. The month your year starts. A year is always twelve months, so the month it ends is the month before, and you are not asked for it.

Planning cadence. How often you plan: daily, weekly or monthly. It opens on weekly, which is what the rest of the platform assumes when nobody has said.

What it states rather than asks

Under the five, one row, Your words, shows the words your pages will use, taken from the kind of company you named on the card before this one: what you call the companies you buy from, what you call the places your stock sits, and what you call what you sell. Change reopens that question, because the answer lives there and is asked once.

Why it comes before the connection

The card is answered before the system card, so the first import and the figures computed at the end of it read your currency, your year, your cadence and your vertical rather than defaults. Answered after the import, a changed answer changes a number you have already been shown.

When you can change it

All five live in Settings afterwards: name, currency and vertical (as Industry) on General, and the fiscal year and the cadence (as Replenishment frequency) on Planning. Nothing here is a decision you are stuck with; it is a decision worth making before the numbers arrive rather than after.

What Continue waits for

The name, the vertical, the currency and the fiscal year. The reason beside Continue names all four at once rather than the first of them, so the card is answered in one pass. The cadence always has an answer, so it never holds you up.

Where the save is refused, the server's own sentence stands under the card and nothing you typed is lost.
