What it is
A suggested order is a purchase order Tightly drafted for you and holds until you approve it. It is built from the replenishment engine's recommendations for variants you have chosen, grouped by supplier and warehouse, and it waits in the Planned procurement view of Purchase orders. Approving it lands it on the book as a draft; ignoring it removes it. Nothing is ordered, sent or spent by a suggestion.
How Tightly decides it
Suggested orders are off until you switch them on. The Suggested orders drawer, under Settings in the Purchase orders head, holds the rules: the switch, whether quantities are topped up to each supplier's minimum order quantity, whether they are rounded up to the batch size, whether the container is filled, and which variants Tightly may draft for. With the rules on, each inventory run turns the engine's recommendations for those variants into suggested orders, one per supplier and warehouse, priced at the supplier's unit cost for the variant, or the variant's own cost where the supplier has none. A recommendation whose month is over its declared budget, or one excluded from the buy, does not become a suggestion; a month with no declared budget still does. Suggested orders never appear in the Orders view and are left out of the On order figure the month's open to buy is read against; they carry the word Suggested wherever an order's status word prints, and the count on the Planned procurement view is organisation-wide. On a supplier's record the Orders tab shows the suggestions scoped to that supplier.
The words on the face
| Word | Where | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Planned procurement | Purchase orders, the second view | How many suggestions wait for approval |
| Suggested | the order's badge, Status | This order is Tightly's draft, not yet approved |
| {n} suggested orders wait for your approval, {money} at cost. | the Planned procurement head | The money shows once every suggestion is on the page and one carries a price |
| No suggested orders are waiting. | the Planned procurement head | Drafting is on and nothing waits |
| Recommended | the order's Lines header | The quantity column on a suggestion reads the engine's word |
When drafting is off and nothing waits, the view says Suggested orders are off. and offers Turn on suggested orders. When suggestions are hidden by your filters the sentence counts them and offers Show all.
What you can do about it
Turn drafting on in the Suggested orders drawer; before Save its consequence line says generated orders wait for your approval and land as drafts. A writing seat presses everything here; a read-only seat reads.
Each row's Approve and Ignore act on one press. Approve lands the order as a draft, and a line under the tools names the new draft with an Open door; Ignore removes the suggestion. Select several rows and each act asks first, saying what it does not promise:
Approve these {n} suggested orders? Each lands on the book as a draft.
Ignore these {n} suggested orders? They are removed, and Tightly may suggest the same lines again.
Open a suggestion to read its lines, where the quantity header reads Recommended, and approve or ignore it from there; the order's head carries no sentence for a suggestion, only its Suggested badge and the two buttons. Once approved, the order is an ordinary draft: edit its lines, set its address, and send it as Confirm an order and The order describe. Where the rules cannot be saved the drawer reads The rules were not saved.
