The question this page answers

Where does stock sit, what kind of place is each one, which is the default, which are active, how does each one restock, and how long does a transfer take between any two of them? The page is Locations on the brand chair and Stores & DCs on the retailer chair; the rail row and the head take the same name, so the door and the page cannot disagree.

Where stock sits is the one object this page is about, and each chair has its own word for it: a Warehouse in the brand chair, a Store in the retailer chair, a Location where a brand also owns stores. Every sentence below bends that word.

What you see

The head is the page's name; like every Settings page it carries no sentence. Where more than one place is active its basis line reads Lead times · days.

The first set is the places, one row each, with a search: Name, Location type (Store, Warehouse, Distribution centre, Third-party logistics, Drop ship, or Not set), Address (street and city; the whole address on hover; No address where none is on file), Default (the word Default on one row), Active (a switch; the last active place reads The last active stays active), Replenishes by (Transfer, meaning transfer orders from other places, or the supplier word, meaning purchase orders from suppliers; an inactive place shows its method as a word) and Ships to channels (the channels this place ships for; No channel yet).

The second set, drawn where more than one place is active, is Transfer lead times, a matrix of the active places, From down the side and To across the top. A cell is a whole number of days or Not set.

The third, Source priority, picks a destination and lists the places that transfer into it, with the note Lowest priority first · blank keeps source order; with no inbound lanes it reads "Add inbound transfer lanes first."

The default is the first active place in the list. Names come from the connected system.

What to do

Press a row to open its drawer. Make default, offered there on an active place that is not already the default, moves the chosen place to the top of the list. Location type takes one of the kinds, with Save type. The Active switch turns a place off or on; the last active one cannot be switched off. Turning one off asks first, "Disable {name}?", with its consequence: "Stock and incoming orders here will be excluded from active-location planning and replenishment. Existing records stay available. NetSuite sync will not reactivate this location." The decline is Cancel, the act Disable location. Replenishes by takes one of the two methods.

The drawer also holds the address: Street, Floor, suite or unit, City, State or region, Postcode and Country, and one button, Save address. It says "The name is managed in {integration} and cannot be changed here." The address is editable on a Shopify source, where the drawer says "Once saved, Tightly keeps this address and sync will not overwrite it."; on any other source it reads "This address comes from {integration}; change it there and Tightly syncs the update." An inactive place reads "Reactivate this {place} to edit its address."

In the lanes matrix, type days into a row's cells and press that row's Save. A cell you empty removes the lane, and the consequence line says so first: "Clearing {to} removes the {from} to {to} lane; that cannot be undone." Removing a lane that carries a source priority asks once more, "Remove ranked transfer lanes?". Days are whole numbers, zero or more; anything else reads "{name}: Days are whole numbers, 0 or more."

Admins change these; the page says so once, "Admins change these.", and everyone else reads the rows.

When it is empty or failed

A failed read prints "The {places} did not load." with Try again; a failed lanes read prints "The transfer lead times did not load." No places prints "No {places} yet." A write the server refused prints its sentence under the table, prefixed with the row's name where the sentence does not already carry it; a refusal with no sentence prints "The change was not saved."
