WhereSettings, under Tenant, the General page

The question this page answers

What is this tenant called, what does it plan in and where, what kind of company is it, and what address does a purchase order print? General is the first page under Settings and the one /settings lands on. It describes the tenant you are working in right now; switching to another is the Profile page's job.

What you see

General, with the Tenant set and Kind of company marked 1 and 2.
  1. Tenant, the name, domain, logo, time zone, currency, industry and kind of company.
  2. Kind of company, the chair; Brand, Retailer or Both.

The head is the page's name; like every Settings page it carries no sentence.

Tenant fields are under General. Purchase order contact details are under Settings → Purchase orders, which is the same form showing its other set.

Tenant holds Name, Domain, Logo, Time zone, Currency, Industry and Kind of company. Industry is one of five verticals in the customer's words (Premium Apparel & Sporting Goods, Luxury Goods, Beauty & Cosmetics, Premium Home (Small Goods), Outdoor Hardgoods); nothing chosen offers all five. Kind of company is the chair: Brand, Retailer or Both. A tenant that was never asked reads Brand, because every tenant predates the question Setup now asks first; nothing infers it from the vertical or the connection. Changing the chair re-words the rail and adds or removes the rows that kind of company has; it sells no room and gates none a plan sells. The two chairs article says what each word becomes.

Settings → Purchase orders holds Business address (street, floor or suite, city, state or region, postcode, country), with the line "Printed as your business address on purchase orders. Delivery addresses belong to each location.", then Phone and Email. These are the details every purchase order prints.

The logo row reads No logo until one is uploaded, and Removed when saved after you press Remove and before you save.

What to do

A data-review currency finding opens this page at the Currency setting. Return to the data report and choose Refresh to check the saved value.

  1. Edit a row and press save.
  2. Choose Kind of company (Brand, Retailer or Both) to re-word the rail for what this tenant is.
  3. Fill Settings → Purchase orders' Business address, Phone and Email for what a purchase order prints.

A text row writes the trimmed value; an emptied row is recorded as nobody said, never as an empty string. The name is required and is kept to 100 characters; the invalid sentences are "The tenant needs a name." and "Keep the name under 100 characters." An email that is not an address reads "That is not an email address." A logo is a .svg, .png or .jpg of 5 MB or less; the wrong file reads "That file is not a .svg, .png or .jpg under 5 MB." and a failed upload "The logo did not upload. Try again."

Members and admins may change these rows; the writes need the Member rung on the wire. The page draws the same controls for a read-only seat, and Tightly refuses a Viewer's save with:

Your access level does not cover this. Ask an admin on Team to raise it.

Naming a tenant that started nameless happens here, for the current one only. To name a different one, switch to it first from the account menu or from the Tenants rows on Profile, then come back. Nothing on this page creates, leaves or removes a tenant: connecting another is Profile's door to Setup, and removing one does not exist for a customer.

When it is empty or failed

A failed read prints "The tenant profile did not load." in place of the form, with Try again beside the page's name. A write the server refused without a sentence prints "The change was not saved and no reason came back." beside the row. There is no empty state: a tenant always has a profile, even a nameless one.
