The question this page answers
Where does the trade divide, direct to consumer against the trade, by category and month, against the same months a year before?
What you see
- 1The grain picker, switching between By side and By category and side.
- 2By side, one row per side with Net sales, Share, Units and vs year before.
- 3Sales and share charts, opened; the shape of both sides by month, and the direct share against the year before.
The split is a grain of Sales performance, not a page of its own: the old address opens Sales performance with the grain already set to By side, and a saved view at that grain can be pinned to the rail. On Tightly Pro, the buy plan's carve, the one consumer of the sides, carries the door to it. No rail row carries the split's name; searching for it lands on Sales performance.
At the side grains, By side and By category and side, the page reads net sales by the side a channel type sells on, over whole completed months, against the same months a year before. The window is one of Last 12 completed months, Last 6, Last 3, or Last completed month, and the comparison is set by the page rather than picked. The basis line reads net sales, the currency, and month.
The head carries no sentence; the charts' headlines carry the reading. The shape chart's headline is the net sales total with its movement against the year before; the share chart's is the direct side's share with its movement in points, reading level where it moved less than a twentieth of a point.
By side is one table: Side, Net sales, Share, Units, vs year before, with a Not classified row where a channel names no side. A side that has more than one channel type opens to them, each type carrying a badge for the side it states for itself, Sold direct, Through the trade, or Not stated where nobody has said. By category and side is one table: Category, one column per side, Not classified where a channel names no side, Total, Sold direct, vs year before, the top twelve categories first and the rest behind one press.
Sales and share charts, under the grid, opens two charts: the shape, both sides month by month from zero; and the direct share against the year before drawn as a rule, so the distance between the line and the rule is the reading. The head's door, The ledger, opens the same sales week by week on Tightly Pro's weekly ledger.
How the side is decided
The side is decided by whether the channel's type sells direct, never by the channel's name. A bucket with no row is nobody said; a bucket that sold and kept nothing is a measured zero. Growth is absent where the prior is absent or zero, while units always sum. The two reads, this window and the window a year before, come back at month grain; either failing replaces the whole reading.
The words on the two sides are the chair's. In the brand chair the two side rows read
Direct to consumer
Wholesale
and a channel type on the second side carries the badge Through the trade. In the retailer chair the direct side is Our tills and the other side is the franchise word the channels declare, with the badges Ours and one naming that franchise word. By category and side names its two side columns the same way: the chair's words, not a fixed pair. The mechanics do not change with the chair.
What to do
Nothing on this page writes. Choose the window; open a side to its channel types; save the grain, the window and the sort under a name, and the saved view opens where you left it and can be pinned to the rail. The envelope split, one growth and one margin becoming a figure per category and side, is what the buy plan's carve computes on Tightly Pro and is not a page of its own.
When it is empty or failed
Net sales did not answer.
A failed read, with Try again beside it. While the two reads are in flight the tables and charts show their loading state.
Where no category sold in the window the category grid reads No category sales in this period, and where no month has a reading the charts read No monthly sales readings.
