WhereThe Sales report, under Demand on Lite, Essentials and Essentials+, or under Finance on Tightly Pro

The question this page answers

How did the selected period sell, in total and line by line, against the period before it, and which lines are leaking margin or out of stock while still selling?

What you see

Sales performance on Trading, marked 1 to 3.
  1. The figure row, Net sales, Units, Sell-through and Return rate, each with its movement.
  2. Sales source switches between Recorded sales, Reported sell-out and Commitment sell-out.
  3. Views opens the nine built-in views and any view you have saved.

Sales performance is a report, on every rail: under Demand on Lite, Essentials and Essentials+, under Finance on Tightly Pro, one page either way. It opens on the last seven days against the seven before, by product, biggest net sales first; where your book carries a reporting window of its own, it opens on that window with no comparison.

The head carries Sales source, Recorded sales or Reported sell-out, with Commitment sell-out as a third on Tightly Pro, and Export CSV, which exports the current table with the comparison window. The figure row reads four measures, Net sales, Units, Sell-through and Return rate, each with its movement as the word beneath, in points for the two rates; a measure the read could not supply stays on the row as Not measured or Not counted.

The controls, one row: the grain, By variant, By product, By side, By category and side; Views; the period, with the presets Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days and Last 90 days or a hand-drawn range; and against it the comparison, another range, or No comparison. A comparison overlapping the period is moved to end the day before it.

Open Views for built-in and personal saved views. The nine built-ins are Trading, Sales movement, Profitability, Pricing, Discounts & returns, Stock position, Inventory productivity, Plan performance and Lost sales. Each sets its columns and ranking and keeps your dates, search and scope. Change the columns, then name and Save the view in the same menu, under My views; it keeps its grain, dates, comparison, filters and ranking.

Above the grid a ranking, the grid's own measure ranked the way the grid is sorted, Top {n} of {m} on this page; a press on a bar opens that line, and Hide ranking folds it. Then the tools: search across products, variants and SKUs; Filters, with Channels, Locations, Products, SKUs, Category, Tags, Only untagged, Price sensitivity, the ranges and your custom fields, each landing as a chip; the sort as a chip; Clear; and the columns. The table is one row per line in the columns you choose, each movement a caret and a figure in the same cell, never a colour. At By product a row opens onto its variants. An absence is a word in the cell: Not measured for money and a rate, Not counted for units, Not set for a custom field, No SKU where a line has none. A row opens the line's detail.

The two side grains read net sales by the side a channel type sells on, over whole completed months against the same months a year before. The table is then Side, Net sales, Share, Units and vs year before, with an opened side's channel types beneath it, plus Category, one column per side and Total. Two charts follow: net sales month by month, and the direct share against the year before.

What to do

  1. Choose Sales source to read recorded sales, reported sell-out or, on Tightly Pro, commitment sell-out.
  2. Pick the period from the presets, or draw your own range, and pick a comparison range.
  3. Open Views to switch to Profitability, Pricing, Stock position or one of the other six readings.
  4. Use Filters to narrow the table, and search across products, variants and SKUs.
  5. Press a row to open that line's detail.
  6. On Lost sales, use the trailing Reorder column to open the replenishment workflow for a line.
  7. Press Export CSV to export the current table with its comparison window.

Views, columns and page size are your own settings; nothing here writes to the book. In the retailer chair the direct side reads Our tills.

When it is empty or failed

The period's totals could not be read.

A failed read of the figures, said where they would be.

The sales table could not be read.

No sales data for this period.

No sales data matches these filters., with Clear the filters.

On Lost sales an empty view reads Nothing went out of stock. At the side grains a failed read says Net sales did not answer., with Try again; a window with no category sales reads No category sales in this period, and one with no monthly readings reads No monthly sales readings where the charts would be.
