The question this page answers
I was sent here to join Tightly: which address is this account for, what do I need to give, and what happens if the link is old? Sign-up is invite-led. An account is created from a teammate's invitation, from Tightly's own invitation, or from a Shopify store install; a bare visit with none of the three gets no form, only the sentence "Sign in, or ask your Tightly contact for an invitation." and the door Sign in.
What you see
The title is
Create your account
and its one sentence names the arrival:
{Inviter} invited you to their Tightly organisation as {email}.
for a teammate's invitation, or You're invited to a Tightly organisation as {email} without a name;
{Name}, create your Tightly account as {email}.
for Tightly's own invitation, or Create your Tightly account as {email} without a name; and
Create your Tightly account to connect {shop}.
for a store install, with the store's address as Shopify sent it. An invited address stands as a locked value under Email; a store install types its own. The password field's rule is its own word before typing, At least 8 characters, no spaces, and the failing rule replaces it when a typed password breaks it. Sign up is disabled until the form is whole; the two provider doors read Continue with Google and Continue with Microsoft. Under them stands Sign in, and Privacy policy sits at the foot.
A link that carries no invitation at all creates nothing and says so, with Sign in as the one door:
Sign in, or ask your Tightly contact for an invitation.
An expired invitation opens its own page, Invitation expired, with two facts, Invited with the address and Expired with the day, and one sentence:
{inviter} can send you a new link.
or Whoever invited you can send a new link. Beside Sign in stands the support address, support@tightly.io. An invite link works for seven days from the day it is sent; any read-write member of the organisation can send another.
What to do
- Check the sentence names the right address; a store install can still type its own.
- Type a password against the rule shown, or press Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft to use the provider account that matches the invited address.
- Press Sign up.
- Open the link Tightly emails to confirm the account, where one is asked for.
- On an expired invitation, press Sign in if you already hold an account, or ask the inviter (named beside the support address) for a new link.
The invitation is used once. A new account lands in Setup on its first step; a store install lands on Where does your data live with the store already connected. Tightly's invitation carries the kind of company and the plan on its own side; nothing about a plan is printed here.
When it is empty or failed
Refusals print under the control that failed, in the server's words:
The provided token is expired.
The provided token is not a valid token.
The provided email '{email}' is already in use.
The provided email domain is not usable.
An invitation link that does not decode reads "This invitation link isn't valid; ask whoever sent it." with the form withheld and Sign in as the one door. An account created but not yet confirmed reads "Your account is created; open the link sent to {email}." Where nothing was served:
Your account was not created; try again.
A typed address that does not read as one is named under the field before anything is sent:
Email is invalid
