# Invite a buyer

## What it writes

Invite a buyer gives a person at one of your accounts a seat on the buyer portal: their own sign-in to the pages you choose for that account. Sending it saves one invitation for that email address and emails them a link. It records nothing on the book, spends nothing and moves no figure. Inviting the same address again replaces the open invitation rather than adding a second one. What the buyer sees once they arrive is The seat and the showing link.

## Who may press it

Invite a buyer is Tightly Pro's. On Essentials+ it is absent everywhere: no menu entry, no Seats card, no drawer. A seat that may write (read and write or above) can send, change or revoke; a read-only seat can open the drawer and read it. Ask Tightly never sends an invitation and never widens what a seat opens, because both reach a person outside your company.

## How

1. Open the account and choose **Terms**, then press **Invite a buyer** on the Seats card (also reachable from the account's **More** menu, and from a row's menu on **Accounts**).
2. Type the person's address in **Email**.
3. Under **Pages this seat opens**, leave or clear the six boxes: Forecast for my stores, My orders, Ship windows, Sell-through, Showroom and Claims. Home always opens, and My stores opens wherever Sell-through does.
4. Read the line above the button, which names the account whose pages this seat will see.
5. Press **Send the invitation**.
6. Read the receipt where the button was, naming the address invited.

## What you see

The drawer opens from three places: Invite a buyer in the account's More menu, Invite a buyer in a row's menu on Accounts, and Invite a buyer on the Seats card of the account's Terms tab. Its title is "Seats at {account}".

Three figures stand at the top: seats, waiting on them, and last opened. Under them one table holds every seat and every open invitation: Person, Email, Pages (a count such as 6 of 6, with the page names on hover), State and Last opened. State reads Invited with its date, Accepted with its date, Expired with its date (an invitation lasts seven days), Revoked with its date, or Email not sent. A person who has not signed in yet reads No name yet, and Last opened reads Not opened.

Before the button it reads:

> They get one email with a link and see {account}'s pages only.

Send the invitation writes it, and the receipt renders where the button was:

> Invited {email}.

## What to do

On an invitation row, Resend sends the same invitation again and reads "Sent again to {email}." Press a seat's row to open its panel: the pages it opens, an Ordered against predicted box, Save access ("Access saved."), and What they opened. Revoke on the row asks once more, "{person} loses the seat now; what they sent you stays.", with Revoke the seat and Keep it. Revoking ends that seat's access at once and reads "{person} no longer holds a seat." The row stays, and a revoked seat says "This seat is revoked; invite them again to give them one."

Ask Tightly can close a seat for you after you say yes on a later turn, because closing only narrows what a buyer sees (Close a seat or a showing).

## Refusals you may read

"That is not an email address." and "Choose at least one page." stop the button before anything is sent. "Invitation saved for {email}. Email was not sent. Try inviting this address again." means the invitation is on file but no email left. "The invitation was not sent.", "The seat was not revoked." and "The access was not saved." stand where no reason came back; otherwise the reason Tightly gave is printed in place. "The seats at {account} did not load." offers Try again.
