# The knowledge base has no article

## The sentence

> The knowledge base has no article for that.

Where Ask Tightly held back an answer it could not stand on, the sentence carries one more clause:

> The knowledge base has no article for that. Rather than guess, I have left it there.

or, when the page you asked from has a door of its own,

> The knowledge base has no article for that. Rather than guess, here is the page it is about.

with Open and the page's name under it.

## What it means

Ask Tightly answers questions about how Tightly works, where something is, or what something means, from the knowledge base: the same articles this help centre publishes. When a question is shaped like one of those (how do I, where is, what does, why does, can I), Tightly searches the book with your words before Ask Tightly reads the question, and hands it the four closest sections, weighted toward the page you are on. Only the articles written for your plan are searched, and if the book cannot be read at that moment the answer is this sentence rather than a guess. The answer must then cite one of those sections, open an article whole, or stand on your own figures read from your records. When none of them answers the question, Ask Tightly says this sentence and nothing softer, and answers only from what your own data shows.

An answer that does none of those things is not sent. Its words are withdrawn and the sentence with Rather than guess stands in their place, with no suggestion to press, because a suggestion built on an unchecked answer is unchecked too. A page, a term, an act or a refusal is never described from memory: a confident answer with no article behind it is the failure the book exists to end.

Every Monday Tightly asks Ask Tightly a scripted set of questions on its demonstration books. Each answer that comes back with this sentence is counted, the share of them is one of the five measures the book is held to, and each one files a gap for the next article to be written.

It is not a refusal of your question. It is not a plan gate, which has its own sentence. It is not an error: the book was read and had nothing yet for that page, that word or that act.

## What to do next

Ask again in the words the face uses: the word on the cell, the title of the page, the label on the button. A question about your own numbers does not need the book at all; on Essentials and above, ask it plainly and Ask Tightly reads the data. On Tightly Lite, the ten fixed charts on the Board are the read of your numbers. Follow the page's door where one is offered. Browse this help centre by zone, where the article may sit under a neighbour's title. And ask once more after the next release: the book is republished with every release and Tightly reloads it within the hour, so a new article is answered from the day it ships.

## Who to ask

Ask Tightly, again, in the product's words, or open the help centre and search it yourself: it is the same book Ask Tightly reads.
