# Keep an answer: Board, Home, the room

## What it writes

Keeping an answer preserves the selected answer and where it came from. A chart or figure with a saved question can be read again live. A table saved from an Ask answer keeps the exact columns, rows and original answer date as a snapshot. Opening or refreshing that snapshot does not rerun the question or replace its figures. Ask again for current figures, then save the new answer if you want to keep it.

An answer has three homes: your Board, your Home, or a commitment's room where everyone in the room can read it. Keeping on Home or a room also saves the answer to the Board if it was not saved there already. A written answer is also a snapshot. The receipt distinguishes a saved snapshot from a live reading.

The act spends nothing, moves none of a commitment's declared numbers, and writes no figure of its own.

## Who may press it

A Member or an Admin. The Board and Home are your own, so those two are performed on your word with no confirm; the room is everyone's, so that one asks first. If you reload while a room confirmation is unanswered, reopening the conversation restores that confirmation. Reloading does not approve it; an answered or completed confirmation is not offered again. The room keep exists only where the plan includes Commitments. A Viewer is not offered the act. A connected client may keep an answer through the same act; the Board's Asked cell then reads Ask · and the client's name beneath the day, so who kept it is never lost.

## What you see

The answer block's menu holds Save to board, which reads Remove from board once saved, and Add to Home, a row that is checked and reads On your Home while the answer is there. In a commitment's room the block carries Keep on this room, which reads Kept on this room once it is. Before a live room keep, the confirmation states:

> Keep "{title}" on {commitment}'s room; everyone in the room sees it, re-read live.

For a table snapshot, the room confirmation instead states that everyone sees it as a saved snapshot. The receipt renders where the control was. A live Add to Home prints

> On your Home as {title}; it re-reads on open.

with Undo and Open on Home beside it. The Board gains the row and the room's Reports gain the report. Nothing pops up and nothing navigates.

## What to do

The way back is the same control chosen again, or Undo in the receipt. Remove from board deletes the kept answer; deleting it from the Board page also takes it off Home. Choosing On your Home takes it off Home and leaves it on the Board. A room keep is put back through its receipt, which takes the answer off the room and leaves it on your Board. Rename the kept answer on the Board or in the workspace; work its question in the workspace and press Update saved insight to keep the change.

## Refusals you may read

An answer with no question and no chart of its own is not offered for Home, in Home's own words:

> This answer cannot be read again, so it cannot stand on your Home; it stays on your board.

A room keep on a plan without Commitments answers the plan's own refusal:

> This organisation's plan does not include Commitments. It is sold with Pro.

Where the wire refused without words, one sentence of failed state stands where the control was:

> This keep could not be started just now.

> This answer could not be kept on the room just now.

> The act could not be put back; the record says what was done.
